Exclusive interview – with a Junior World Champion

TSC RT junior rider, Ben Cumberland, headed to Northern Spain to compete in the World Triathlon Duathlon World Championships after winning his previous competitive race in the British Tri Super League he went into the weekend full of confidence. We are incredibly proud & excited to sit down, have a chat and reminisce over the weekend of racing for the junior GB athlete.. 112 was the start number but 1 is the important number!

Q1 – Tell us how does it feel – to be a Jnr World Champion?

Q2 – How was the weeks leading up to the event; how did you feel off the back of your training and recent win at the British Super League?

Q3 – How did you find travelling to Avilès and did that seem to effect your prep in anyway?

Q4 – Describe to the readers, what it’s like to wear the GB kit – let alone standing on the podium winning for GB?

Q5 – How did the race go, in terms of did you feel outright best in class? Take us through the race – and highlight any particular moments that you remember..

Q6 – Riding the famed; Giant – TCR – how do you find the ride of the bike?

Q7 – As you know Giant’s ‘Propel’ was victorious in winning the Triathlon Olympic Gold medal with Norway’s Kristian Blummenfelt – are you interested in the Propel or do you think you’ll stay with the TCR series for next season?

Q8 – How did you enjoy the overall event and racing weekend?

Q9 – So tell us and the readers; what are you targeting for next year?

Q10 – After this win, of course you need time to just embrace the fact you are one of the best in the world in your sport – but does this change anything for next year? Does this put a target on your head do you feel?

Statement End – Lastly; we want to congratulate you on the win – amazing achievement and we really look forward to your season in 2022 – Well done Champ!
