E123

With a real good field at the 2nd Round, the boys were right up for a tough race. This week Joe had decided to join in the fun and see how he could get on in the E123 resulting in 4 riders for us, although he aimed to use it as a warm up for the Cat3 race and pulled out of the race after the fourth lap to start additional prep for the second race. Olly, Tom and Myles all continued on meaning we had three finishes this week – no mechanicals !!

Myles and Tom took top 20 positions and Tom rolled in 12s down the winner after a bunch sprint for the line.

Cat 3

After an exciting E123 race with 30 riders, the Cat3 race set up with 53 riders on the top course – more riders + more corners..

Simon and Joe’s initial plan after seeing a few other teams with larger numbers was to stick in and around the Top 10 and be on the look out for any attacks… Joe made an early attack and brought a strong rider along working together but nothing was able to get away and stick due to the track and there numbers, unfortunately after the fifth lap there was quite a serious incident on the track involving a local rider from the Swindon Wheelers resulting in a split of the race, fortunately the Wheelers rider is ok (since had communication) and the lead pack headed for a bunch sprint too. Joe rolled in for 20th Position.

Simon unfortunately took damage to his rear wheel, along with getting held up due to the crash which pulled him back a lap behind the sprint resulting in rolling over the line in 33rd.
