Needed some confidence in the wheels again – so my coach suggested Mountbatten Circuit to work within the wheels etc . Started at the front and watched one lad go off the front so closed it down straight away – then started working and doing though & off efforts with a few other lads as the pace built. After a short while, 7 of us had got away and continued to work and control the race. The 7 of us lapped the field and continued to push on – we became a 5 and managed to lap the field again. The final sprint was slightly strange with track rules in place – So a few lapped riders led out team mates to the sprint – I felt strong and jumped on the wheels but got blocked by a lap rider to take 3rd. Power figures were good and I’m pleased with how I managed my race, attacks, recovery and positioning.
