LEAGUE was within the wheels this week saw us racing at Abingdon’s penultimate round of the Summer Series with 2 RT riders & 1 Dev rider and 1 RT rider heading down south to Portsmouth to race at the Mountbatten Circuit.
A.R.T Summer Series R5 – Dalton Barracks – Cat 4

An interesting field, with 18 starting at the gun – the pace was fair for the first few laps gaining momentum with an attack and successful break away getting away just off the first corner with around 5 riders including Dev rider Stephen making on. The break away managed to pull away working together pulling turns and rotations to gain a distance, Aaron sat on the front sat up and sat back almost blocking the follow and after 2 or three laps decided to try and bridge across – which he managed to do. After a poor week of training and plenty of efforts Stephen dropped off the back of the progressing break away and Aaron continued to make it a tough time for those within the break away group managed to split away with one Reading CC and managed to take the win on the sprint. Cat 3 license obtained in two races – well done Aaron!!
Managing to get into the break, Stephen was feeling a little like a masked man – not really worthy of a spot with in such an advanced position.. With literally 0 miles in his legs since last weeks race due to family events and commitments really only aimed to not get entirely dropped. After managing to get in the break away and then being dropped from this front group, got back into the main group which then he got spat out the back of with legs unwilling to work… with 2 laps to go decided enough was enough and went ‘as aero’ as he could to out and out TT back and bridge the 2 corner gap to the bunch – which he made up on the final lap, sat on the back resting and watching and then started to move up to second wheel for the last corner and upon exiting the last corner, attacked far left of the field and managed to out sprint both riders to take 6th.

A.R.T Summer Series R5 – Dalton Barracks – Cat E123

Going on the attack is not unusual for Mr. Featherstone.. After his RR win last Sunday, he went on the attack from the go …
He ended up taking home 4th place!
