The first of the Oxfordshire Road Race League rounds has arrived and we are debuting as an affiliated team. We headed to 9 laps of the Kirlington Kermesse circuit resulting in 100km race taking in 2,916 ft of elevation.
We had a strong line up ready for our first *Focused Race* of the season.

The race itself started off as a hard paced and never backing off flurry of attacks with Cat 2 riders desperate to get away – but to no avail, Olly was seen making attacks through out the race which just didn’t stick. We lost three riders due to pace, near collisions and course type. Leaving Joe, Matt & Olly to fight out the rest of the race with main body bunch.
Unfortunately the race didn’t work out to what we wanted and expected, Olly 25th – Joe 26th and Matt just behind the pack after the final climb 37th out of 48 finishers (from first information)
We look ahead to starting some evening crits at Thruxton and Castle Coombe whilst getting back into British Cycling South & ORRL racing end of the month / early May!
