About Us

In 2023 – LEAGUE was Born…

2023 saw us introduce the new reworked and marketed sponsored team offering from us.. LEAGUE OF SWINDON CYCLES.

The initial plan was to support local riders who wanted to get into Road and Criterium racing, no matter previous experience, fitness level or commitment to winning – it was always about breaking down barriers of participation and supporting people into racing bikes! The year was a complete success; with a few TT wins, 3 top 10 Criterium finishes and overall positive feeling by all involved – we saw LOSC grow in numbers, to date sitting with around 14 active riders.

In 2024, we embarked on the next phase.. Team Co-owner and Swindon Cycles store manager, Stephen, wanted to add a performance focused tip to the LEAGUE spear. So he rebranded the team in to LOSC Development with all the same visuals & goals as the previous year and introduced LOSC RT, which is an ambitious group with high targets and aims – fixed in on winning and getting top results. Managed and coordinated by Tom Bowering, a former graduate of the Swindon Cycles Race Academy in 2014 – some 10 years of gather race experience on the European continental circuit, who wanted to manage to run a team. Our History of Supporting Local Racing

Over the past 27 years, we have always strived to support local riders, check out our jersey collection below – our first involvement was a collaborative team with Diamond Pro Cure in 2006/07. We then supported the ‘GWR Team‘ for around 5 seasons, which was fantastic as they had a complete team set up that we sponsored and it was generally all about youth development. The team had multiple successes both in the UK and racing in Europe, with a few pro contracts being given to team riders as they moved on.

After the GWR Team finished in 2013 we recruited three young road riders, who raced simply for us in 2014, two of which are still competing at a really high standard and also one of the two managed an ambassador role with Pinarello UK fairly recently. Alongside this, in 2014 we supported the New College Cycling Academy who supplied equipment and cycling coaching to students who wanted the extra curriculum activity. The academy was a good success – it was the first cycling academy in the UK which partnered higher learning with the sport, it was really well received and since has been implemented in other further education facilities.

We most recently have been supporting local riders, largely who aim to compete at TT & Road events. In 2017, TSC (Team Swindon Cycles) won the 10mile TT Latton Team Competition and since have retained a top 4 team finish consecutively!
